Council Commemorates GBV

The City of Mutare together with its partners joined the nation and the rest of the world in commemorating the 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence (GBV).

The delegates marched 16km from Madziro business centre to Civic Centre, painting the City orange.

This years’ commemorations are running under the theme “United, Invest to prevent violence against women and girls”.

Council has since 2014 joined the Government, NGOs, CBOs and the international community in raising awareness, influencing behaviour change and securing high level commitment to end Gender Based Violence.

City of Mutare Management, Councillors were joined by different Civic organisations, Gvt departments in mobilising and sensitizing people about gender based violence.

Council together with its Civic Organisation partners committed to intensify action against Gender Based Violence, calling upon every individual and organisation to ensure that action against Gender Based Violence is effective 365, 24 hours of the day and every minute.
