The City of Mutare has constructed and installed two tower lights one in Dangamvura and another in Sakubva to increase the public safety of residents.
All fittings have been completed and the infrastructure awaits ZESA inspection and connection.
The establishment of a proper and functional public light system is a key priority on the Council’s agenda. Through the Street Light levy which is paid per property, Council is slowly working on the maintenance of non-functional street lights and tower lights.
From January to July a total of 782 street lights and 19 tower lights have been brought to functionality.
