Department’s Sections 

This department is made up of the following sections:

1. Revenue

The Section is responsible for the collection of all Council revenue and tracking of all collections up until all receipts are banked. Its made up of the following:

  • Receipting and Banking
  • Billing.
  • Meter Reading.
  • Debt Collection

2. Valuation

The Section is headed by the Valuation Officer who is responsible for the following:

  • Preparation of the valuation roll.
  • Supplementary valuation roll.
  • Valuation of properties for sale and rentals.

3. Expenditure

The Section is responsible for expenditure planning and control amongst the following.

  • Expenditure costing, control and payment.
  • Daily cash posting of payments to the cashbook.
  • Preparation of monthly expenditures listings.
  • Preparation of utility bills.
  • Creditors reconciliations and invoicing.
  • Bank Reconciliations.
  • Preparation of VAT and informal traders tax returns.
  • Authorization of payments.
  • Preparation of monthly reports.
  • Filling of payment vouchers.
